Cortona Tuscany Italy

We had an amazing opportunity last year to photograph Jeff and Sarah in Cortona Italy. A wedding in Tuscany that we will never forget!

They decided to host an intimate destination wedding at the beautiful Borgo Il Melone in Cortona Italy. Cortona is a small medieval town nestled high in the Tuscan countryside. This town was featured in the movie Under the Tuscan Sun and quickly became one of our favorite towns in Tuscany.

They were married at the courthouse by the mayor of Cortona himself! Leaving the courthouse and overlooking the main piazza was a moment I'll never forget. A mix of tourists and locals all stopped to stare and cheer for them as we took pictures paparazzi style leaving the courthouse steps and walking through the narrow cobblestone streets. It felt like a scene from a movie because it was so surreal. Magically surreal.

A few beautiful portraits later (it was hard to take a bad picture in that environment), we proceeded to Borgo Il Melone where we all enjoyed an amazing 5 course meal including lobster, homemade ravioli and roasted duck. They really raised the bar to our typical "vendors meal"!

They treated us like one of the family and it was an experience we'll never forget.
